Incarnation of the Chapter

In June 2013, the brothers in the area re-organized and petitioned for a charter with the Fraternity’s Grand Board of Directors to form the new Beaufort-Jasper-Hilton Head Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.(BJHH). On January 3, 2014 at the Grand Board of Directors Meeting under the auspices of International Grand Polemarch, William “Randy’ Bates Jr., ESQ.   Beaufort-Jasper-Hilton Head Alumni was approved and became the first chapter to receive a charter in 2014 in the Southeast Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. under the leadership of Southeast Province Polemarch Lawrence Davis.  The chapter received its charter on February 21, 2014 at a ceremony in Beaufort, SC.

Beaufort Jasper Hilton Head Alumni

Beaufort-Jasper-Hilton Head Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was organized under the guidance and coordination of Brother Kenneth E. Brown, Sr., Petitioner. The chapter emerged from the remaining members of the former Beaufort Alumni Chapter and the influx of new Brothers moving into the Greater Beaufort communities. The former Beaufort Chapter was originally chartered in the Lowcountry in 1975. Throughout the last 30 years the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi maintain a viable presence in the Greater Beaufort-Jasper community at large by supporting the fraternity’s premiere Guide Right Program.  In 1983, the Kappa Youth League program was organized in the community and served the male youth in the following age category for more than 25 years:  elementary, middle, and high school.
