Brother Obie Bacon hails from Syracuse, NY. He joined the Syracuse Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi (96), Savannah Alumni Chapter (2008), and is presently a Charter Member and Polemarch of Beaufort-Jasper Hilton Head Alumni Chapter and Life Member, Kappa Alpha Psi.

Brother Bacon’s most significant achievements was establishing both a Home Health Care Agency and Durable Medical Equipment company after taking an early retirement from various successful positions within the IT industry. With a strategic solutions analysis to further business goals, he shepherded quality of care improvement strategies with the focus on providing the best quality services and products for clients in both companies.

Brother Bacon’s career includes leadership roles at National Grid Corporation as a Manager/Technical Analyst responsible for maintaining planning, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting and configuring Cisco Systems.

Brother Bacon holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications and Network Management from Syracuse University in Syracuse New York, he earned his Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management and Economics from the State University of New York, Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, NY. He has been recognized with an Exceptional Service Award in Cisco Systems.

Excelling in his educational achievements, Brother Bacon was determined to be a successful entrepreneur; that is why he prepared himself by completing various professional development courses as well as leadership programs, where he earned many certificates and awards for his outstanding leadership. Born with strong leadership characteristics, Brother Bacon joined the U.S. Army and served our Country well. His dedicated leadership won him the Bronze Star in the Republic of Vietnam and an opportunity to share his knowledge and abilities with those who served under him. These experiences were instrumental in grooming Brother Bacon to be the successful leader and entrepreneur he is today.

Brother Bacon resides in Bluffton, SC with wife Rose. They are members of Overcoming By Faith Church in Savannah, GA. They have six (6) children, David, Juan, Shamika, Teela, LaKietha, and Quincey.
